Bigamous Husband Beats Wife

Devi Maya Jogi, 37, of Amarpur4 has filed a case against her husband Dhan Bahadur Rai, 38, of Ranitar8 at the district police office (DPO) on December 5.

Stating that Dhan Bahadur married her 12 years ago despite having a first wife, she accused him of frequently assaulting her.

Dhan Bahadur has 3 children from her first wife and 3 children from his second wife. She said that Dhan Bahadur left her four years ago after leaving for foreign employment. She added that he suddenly returned back on December 2 and attacked her while she was making a house at Bhaluchok bazaar in Amarpur4. She also accused that he made away with Rs 200,000 which she had lent from her neighbor Laxmi Subedi.

Inspector Gopal Prasad Dhakal of the DPO said that search for the accused was ongoing.
