Man Bahadur Thokar, 58, of Tistung2 has been arrested for his alleged involvement in selling a woman hailing from Tistung8 twenty-one years ago on June 17.
Thokar has been alleged that he, tempting a 22-year-old Tamang woman currently aged 43 to search for a good job, left her in a house of a couple in Padampokhari VDC in 1991. The woman had been staying at her maternal home following demise of her husband. The couple based at Pantale of Padampokhari VDC took the woman to Mumbai and sold her in a brothel taking IRS 2, 00000. The couple had taken her to India deceiving that they would go for watching a movie in the market.
The victim, who returned Nepal last month staying in an Indian brothel for 21 years, filed a complaint against Thokar with the help of women rights organizations recently.
She has been staying under the protection of Hetauda based Maiti Nepal.
