Cadres affiliated to United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and a group of youths who took out a rally against the Indian blockade have clashed near Rupedia check-point here in the district on Thursday.
They have also pelted stones against each other after the incident.
A group of anti-blockade local youths have reached Jamunaha, near Nepal India border check point today to retaliated the border blockade imposed on Nepal after the UDMF cadres launched a sit-in at the no man’s land area of the Nepal-India border near the Rupedia check point.
On the occasion, local youths had chased away the UDMF protesters from the sit-in sites. UDMF cadres, who moved to across the border, pelted stones at the anti-blockade supporters from the Indian side of the border.
Police have nabbed five UDMF cadres including UDMF Banke Coordinator Bijay Gupta and Rajesh Mishra.
Police Sub Inspector Bishnu Giri at Jamunah-based Area Police Office also confirmed the incident.
Supporters of UDMF and anti-blockade have both involved in the cross border pelting stones.
The Rupedia border check-point has remained tense following the incident.
