2011-12-08

Tanahun/December 8

Dilip Chandra Hadkhale, 27, of Galbubesi in Byas Municipality-1, who was in the list of disappeared people, has returned home on December 8. It is learnt that he arrived home at around 5 am.

Hadkhale had remained disappeared after his arrest from his rented room in Samakhusi, Kathmandu by the army on January 21, 2004.

His father Dhanraj told INSEC DR that when he last heard, his son was at Bharakali barrack. When he sought help from NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel to trace his son, he learnt that the army accepted detaining him for some days but expressed ignorance about the status thereafter.

After receiving the news, when INSEC DR and Rohit Pant, a member of Society of the Families of Disappeared Persons reached Hadkhale’s home, Dhanraj said his son was too tired to talk and that he would hold press conference later to provide information. He also said that the army took him to India in captive state and then released him there.

The father said his son was working in a village near Benaras in India. When tried to talk with Hadkhale, he did not comment citing fatigue.

Hadkhale had been in INSEC and ICRC’s list of disappeared persons and that his family has already received government-provided Rs 100,000 as the interim relief.
