Police have arrested 5 cadres of Tharuhat United Struggle Committee who were involved in burning the effigy of home minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet and prime minister KP Oli. According to police the arrested had burnt the effigy citing that the two were responsible for inciting deadly clash between SLMM cadres and police in Birgunj. The arrested have been identified as former CA member and UCPN Maoist leader Krishna Kumar Chaudhary, coordinator of Tharuhat United Struggle Committee Madhav Chaudhary, District secretariat member Nain Bahadur Chaudhari, and central members of Tharuhat Tarai Party Somati Chaudhary and Balkrishna Chaudhary.
