Nepal Army Defuse Five Socket Bombs

A bomb disposal unit of Nepal Army has defused five socket bombs in Baijapur VDC on July 1.

 

The devices were found on June 30 at Budhan Gauri Pond in Baijapur3 as the labors were working on laying the pipe for a drinking water project.

 

They could be defused a day after being informed by Madhav Wali, a teacher at Suryodaya Primary School informed about it to the Dhampur Area Police Office.

 

Police said that timely identification and information averted the potential tragedy. DSP Uday Tamang said that the bombs could have been hidden in the pond by the Maoists during the conflict.
