Alleged rapists in different districts have been remanded in custody by the respective district courts on July 5.

In Okhaldhunga, Ganeshman Rai, 35, of Sisneri8 was remanded in custody on charge of raping a 44-year-old woman of the same place. He was arrested on May 30. Similarly, Bhadaure VDC’s Bishal Rai, accused of raping a 21-year-old woman was also remanded in custody. A case was filed against him on May 30.

In Jhapa, custody Ramnath Mahatto, 21, of Taghandubba1 was extended on July 4 for investigation on the charge of rape. Mahatto was arrested on charge of raping a 36-year-old owmen of Sharanamati4 on July 2 as she was cutting grass in a community forest, District Police Office Jhapa’s SI Yadav Gautam informed.

In Morang, police arrested Netra Ghising, 37, of Mangalbare in Urlabari6 on July 5 on charge of raping a 14-year-old girl of the same place.

The girl was taken to the local primary health centre for check up and treatment. The accused was arrested at his home by Urlabari Area Police Office.
