Issuing a statement on July 12, the FNJ Siraha has demanded action against SP Govinda Niraula for supporting a policeman accused of mistreating and behaving badly with a journalist.

The statement signed by FNJ Siraha chairperson Devar Kumar Yadav claimed that SP Niraula had supported an unnamed policeman who had pushed down the motorbike of Naragarik daily reporter Mithilesh Yadav, 32, of LahanN.P.4 on July 10.

It is learnt that Yadav was returning from Ward Police Office after collecting information on assault against local hotelier.

The statement condemned the SP's response when Yadav complained about WPO incident to him who said the journalist could also lose his life.
