Police have filed a rape attempt case against a youth in the district court on July 15.

The case was filed against Ram Kumar Rai, 21, a permanent resident of Likuwa Pokhari VDC and currently staying at DhankutaN.P.7 alleging that he made an attempt to rape a 15-year-girl of same locality.

The accused was arrested after father of the victim had filed a complaint at District Police Office on July 13 and the attempt to rape was filed against the youth at the district court today, Inspector Nabin Kishor Pradhan said.

The accused had made an attempt to rape the victim at his rented room in Dhankuta while she had come to Dhankuta on July 12. When the victim cried out and asked for help, locals arrived in the scene and informed the police.
