Socket Bomb Rocks Food Store

A socket bomb has been detonated at Puja Food Store, belonging to Harka Bahadur Basnet, 38, of Sanoshri2 on July 22. 

 

Though the explosion caused no human casualty, it damaged wheat, lentil, rice and mustard sacks, Basnet said, adding that the explosion also caused damage to roof, shutter and a door of the store. The damage incurred loss amounting to Rs. 20, 000.

 

"I had not got any threat prior to the explosion," Basnet added.

 

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident, however, its investigation is underway, police said, adding that pamphlets of Madesh Mukti Tigers (Terai) were recovered from the incident site.

 

Meanwhile, locals blamed the police administration for not showing concern in the context that incident of bomb blasts and asking donations by underground armed gangs over phone have been increasing. Demanding security and protesting the incident, locals had staged a traffic strike today.
