Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Rolpa chapter has expressed serious concern over the warning issued by NC district president Krishna Bahadur Gharti Magar.
Issuing a press statement on August 14, FNJ said that the language used by Magar to address journalists as 'thieves' was insulting and his warning that 'anything could happen to journalists' was regrettable.
Journalist Hira Bahadur Ghartimagar, also the vice-chariperson of FNJ Rolpa had covered a news story on the Himal weekly on the involvement of three district leaders in corruption.
The statement said that threat from the district chief of a political party at a time when journalists are being attacked by people with criminal mentality have made all journalists sensitive.
