Man Bahadur Tamang, 65, of Kakurthakur8 has raped  a 9-year-ol girl of same place on July 15, said police. Police Inspector Dilip Jha on August 14 said that the girl was raped 15 days ago by Tamang when her parentshad gone to sell woods in  Katari Bazaar in Udayapur. Parents of the girl are wage laborers.

Due to the threat from the perpetrator, the  girl did not disclose the incident. The incident came to light after children of local Balnamuna Club inquired her as she stopped eating and talking. Police said that the perpetrator was able to flee because the victim could not disclose the incident for a long time due to the threat from the perpetrator. Tamang is at large.

According to the locals, the victim's family was not able to come to Sindhuli to report the incident due to the pressure from the perpetrator's side and their economic condition. The incident site is in the border between Sindhuli and Udayapur.

Police said that the victim underwent health check-up in Katari hospital, Udayapur and the search for the perpetrator is underway.
