A time bomb has gone off at the district development committee (DDC) Rautahat on December 9 afternoon.

The bomb planted at the second floor of the DDC office had exploded at around 2.30 pm. Inspector Lalan Prasad Kurmi of the district police office said that the explosion caused no human casualties and damaged only window glasses of the training hall.

The bomb went off few moments later after a bomb disposal team of Amar Dal battalion of Nepal Army reached the site. The Nepal army was called after rumor spread that an unidentified man had abandoned a bag with bomb.

Jantantrik Tarai Madehs Mukti Morcha Bara, Parsa, Rautahat in-charge Abhay Singh owned up planting the bomb.

Meanwhile, INSEC Bardiya representative reports that Nepal Army diffused a socket bomb found at the house of one Duryodhan Yadav of Gulariya Municipality on December-7. <
