Three serial robbery suspects held in Kathmandu

Police said they arrested three persons who were involved in a series of property crimes in Bouddha area of Kathmandu. Organising a press conference today, the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, paraded Bhim Tamang from Padampokhari, Hetaunda of Makawanpur; Anil BK from Pangtang-7 of Sindhupalchok and Gautam Thing of Hetaunda-7 of Makawanpur. Police also seized a khukuri, an iron rod, four mobile phones and a SIM card from them. Police said the gang had robbed 24-year-old Ravi Gurung of Rs 45,000 and an iPhone after attacking him with a khukuri in Gaurighat, KMC-7 on Friday. Likewise, they had robbed 22-year-old Guru Bhote of two mobile sets a day earlier. Police added that the gang had injured Santosh Khadka of Kapan, Budhanilakantha-14 to snatch away a mobile phone from him on last Wednesday. They were also involved in a similar incident in Arubari of Bouddha around two weeks ago, according to police. Further investigation is underway.
