Police have arrested Sitamaya Khadka, 49, on January 18, seven months after she was accused of beating her daughter-in-law Kamala Khadka, 28, of Mulpani in Uttari Shadananda Municipality-1. According to police, Sitamaya killed Kamal using a sharp weapon on June 18 over a dispute on property inheritance. DSP Raj Kumar Lamsal of the District Police Office said that investigation revealed that body of Kamal was buried at a field near the home by felling a stone wall. Sitamaya was absconding after the incident. DSP Lamsal further said that she had been charged and would be presented before court soon. Police said that Sitamaya has admitted killing Kamala.
