A clash has erupted between cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and Nepali Congress (NC) during the NC municipal convention in Rajbiraj of Saptari district on Monday. The cadres of UDMF had obstructed the convention from being held at the premises of Aniruddhawati Secondary School in the district headquarters. A UDMF cadre was injured while the NC youth cadres tried to remove them from the venue to continue the convention. The UDMF cadres, however, continued sloganeering outside the school gate in their bid to stop the poll. Similarly, the UDMF cadres also protested around Gajendra Chok, Sahid Dashan Chok among others places of the city. Earlier also, the Front had tried to block the convention in other places of the district as well. Meanwhile, Prabhat Kuma Lalan and Shambhu Lal Dev are locking horns for the Municipal President of the largest political party while Deepak Chaudhary and Shatrudhan Prasad Sah are vying for the Secretary.
