District Hospital Distributes Date Expired Medicines

Albendazol, the medicines widely used for de-worming, being distributed by the District Hospital has been found date expired.

 

The tablets given to Sahadev Karki, 6, of Karkibada8 on September 5 were found to be such medicine.

 

The medicine was to be expired on August 30, 2012. The dated medicines are supposed to be sealed and destroyed but the Hospital itself was distributing such medicines.

 

Commenting on the incident, Senior Public Health Officer Brish Bahadur Shahi of District Health Office said though the dated medicines had been stored separately, the authority would check as who distributed the medicine without checking.
