Police fired four rounds of warning shots into the air during a dispute with locals at a fair in Gorkha. The dispute ensued after police tried to stop gambling activities at the Tatopani fair in Kholbisi of Uhiya. Police fired the warning shots after the locals started to assault them during the dispute. Gambling is very popular in the yearly Tatopani fair. According to Inspector, Rabiraj Thapaliya, police were trying to stop gambling when locals started assaulting them and thus the shots were fired. Three police officers have been injured in the clash. District Administration Office also informed that the fair was organized without informing the DAO.
