(updated) A man has been shot dead by an unidentified group in Sainamaina of Rupandehi district. 34-year-old Khagishwor Kafle, a resident of Sainamaina-10, Rampur Shanti tol died after being shot by a group of men who were riding on a motorcycle. According to Inspector Subas Khadka, Kafle who was seriously injured on being shot in the chest passed away while receiving treatment in Lumbini Zonal Hospital in Butwal. Kafle was called outside his home at about 8 pm and was immediately shot. Inspector Khadka informed that the reason behind the shooting is not known and the perpetrators absconded after the incident.

Update......... Police arrested three people who had fled after murdering Khageshwor Kafle, 34, of Rupendehi, Sainamaina-10. The police arrested Tulasi Ghimire, 22, aka Arjun, Sandip Pariyar, 23, of Sainamaina-10 and Khima Giri, 36, of Gulmi, Bhurtung along with a pistol, eight rounds of bullet, and a pulsar bike, Lu 15 Pa 161. They were made public in a press conference on Thursday. According to the police, Giri planned and Ghimire and Pariyar assisted to kill Kafle. Giri had personal grudges against the victim, it is learned. The convicts had left a “Tarai Mukti Morcha” written pamphlet on the scene. Pariyar and Ghimire, who had fled after the murder, were arrested from Hetauda. Khima was detained from his house. All three have accepted their involvement in the incident. Ghimire was earlier sentenced to one year in jail for drug abuse. Butwal police DSP Mahendra Khadka informed that the case has been forwarded for murder.
