The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has closed all the market areas, educational institutions, and vehicle movements in Janakapur, district headquarters of Dhanusa district from Thursday morning. The UDMF has intensified the strike in a bid to show protest against the arrival of Nepali Congress (NC) former general secretary Bimalendra Nidhi in hometown for the NC’s local and municipal convention. The strike led by UDMF leaders and caders has affected the normal life of people.
On Wednesday, a minor clash had broken out between police and the UDMf caders in the Janakpur, when the agitating UDMF cadres tried to protest about the arrival of Nidhi with black flags. The cadres of UDMF are protesting by burning tyres from early today’s morning.
