The District Child Welfare Committee, Tanahun has said that child workers in hotels of Damauli are deprived of study.
Making public its report on child workers of district headquarters Damauli, the DCWC concluded that the parents of children brought them to such hotels due ot weak economic condition.
There are currently 18 boys and 12 girls working in different hotels of Damauli. Among them, 9 are illiterate, 9 have attended primary level, 8 have attended pre-secondary level and 4 have attended SLC test exams, according to the report.
The DCWC has recommended formal and informal classes for child workers. The hotel owners were advised to not employ children in dangerous work, regularly take them for medical check-up and pay attention to hygiene by the DCWC staffs during information collection.<
