The 27-day long rally against the caste-based discrimination which would travel across the country has begun in Ilam on September 13.

The rally was coordinated COCAP and supported by nearly 40 organizations including INSEC, Advocacy Forum, FECOFUN and DNF among others.

The rally was inaugurated at Ratna Chok in Ilam, the district headquarters and was led by dalit rights leader Mohanlal Balmiki and non-dalit elderly Ganga Devi Bishta. Each of them also drank from other person's hand demonstrating the symbolic social desegregation and end of caste-based discrimination.

The rally will end in Nuwakot on October 9. A team of 25 will cover nearly 5,000 km and reach 36 district. <
