Children rescued from brick kilns in Rolpa

Four children of Rolpa who reached Bhaktapur district to work in brick kilns were rescued and handed over to their guardians on April 1. Gokarna Prasad Pun, Child Welfare Officer of District Child Welfare Committee said that two girls and two boys aged 12-14 were rescued with the support of Child Development Society, Kathmandu. The children hailed from Masina VDC, Phagam VDC, and Jaulipokhari VDC. The children were handed over to their guardians in the presence of district-based child rights organizations. Article 39 (4) of the Constitution of Nepal states that "No child shall be employed in factories, mines, or in any hazardous works".
