(Updated) A teenage boy missing for the past 11 days was found dead at Ravi VDC-1, Panchthar last evening. The deceased has been identified as Sukhbir Rai. Rai went missing when he had been to neighbouring Aarubote VDC to attend a cultural programme eleven days ago. Family members and relatives had registered a missing complaint at Area Police Office, Ravi. Inspector Git Narayan Chaudhary said that the body was recovered from Likhiya Khola at Ravi VDC-2 during a search operation launched by the police. As per preliminary investigation, police suspect that Anil Rai from Ravi VDC-1 might have killed Sukhbir, inspector Chaudhary said. “An eyewitness told the police that Anil under the influence of alcohol had blocked Sukhbir’s way and thrashed him to death for no reason,” Chaudhary said. The culprit had warned of finishing off the eyewitness if he reported the incident to the police. Police have kept the name of the eyewitness secret. According to police, they are searching for the culprit. Body of Sukhbir has been sent to the district hospital for postmortem.  A teenager was killed after he reportedly peed on the trousers of his neighbour on April 8 midnight. Police have identified the victim as Sukhbir Rai alias Rabindra (17) of Rabi-1 in Panchthar and the alleged murderer as Anil Rai alias Deuke (25) of Olne-9, currently residing in the neighborhood of the victim. According to DSP Krishna Prasad Koirala, the duo, both being under the influence of alcohol were returning from a cultural program organized by Himchuli Cultural Youth Club at Arubote VDC-8. They were walking down the street when the teenager Rai suddenly turned back and peed on the trousers of Anil, at which the latter, furious at such mischief, strangled the teenager’s neck with his muffler to death. Police said a boy in the neighbourhood had witnessed the dispute and had even intervened but failed to stop the incident. The witness had kept mum about the issue until the victim’s body was discovered the following day. Panchthar police detained the absconding suspect from Dharan on Thursday. He confessed the crime in a statement given to police.
