Cops assault photojournalist in Singha Durbar

A photojournalist was beaten up by police personnel inside the Singha Durbar premises on Sunday. Kabin Adhikari, working for Onlinekhabar.com, had arrived in Singha Durbar to cover the ongoing demonstration of the civil servants outside the Ministry of General Administration. While taking photographs of the protest, police got hold of Adhikari and started beating him up with sticks. He has sustained injuries after the incident and is currently receiving medical attention. Meanwhile, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the incident stating that it is an attack against the press freedom. In a statement, the FNJ has demanded justice for the injured journalist and prompt action against the ones who attacked him.
