To protest the DPO's ongoing investigation into Shah's role in Singhaniya's murder, cadres and activists of Sadbhawana Party, Dhanusha on Tuesday closed down Janakpur. They staged a torch rally in the district headquarters of Dhanusha on Monday. Sanjay Singh, chair of the party in Dhanusha district, accused the police of conspiracy in the case. He demanded judicial investigation using modern technology. Sah is already serving a jail sentence after being convicted of his role in a bomb blast four years ago in Janakpur that killed five persons. Meanwhile, the health of suspended lawmaker Sanjay Sah and his wife, who have been staging fast-unto-death since last Thursday, started to deteriorate, according to doctors. Sah, who is under the custody of District Police Office (DPO) Dhanusha, has been staging the hunger strike at the detention centre alleging the police of wrongfully implicating him in crimes he did not commit. To support him, his wife, Rangila Devi, has also been staging a hunger strike at the Janak Chowk of Janakpur since the last six days. The DPO claims that he was the mastermind in the murder of media entrepreneur Arun Singhaniya that took place in Janakpur seven years ago. However, he has denied his involvement in the murder and accused the police of dragging him in the case wrongfully. The Sah couple said that they would continue their fast until a credible investigation is started. Ramdev Chaudhary, a doctor at Janakpur Zonal Hospital, said that Sah's wife Rangila's health condition has deteriorated. “Her blood pressure has become low. Her health condition cannot remain stable merely on saline water,” the doctor said.
