25-year-old Laxmi Thapa a resident of Chandannath municipality-7 lodged a complaint at police against her husband, Chhetra Bahadur Thapa for injuring her by beating her with a stick. Laxmi lodged the complaint at the Women and Children Service Center of District Police Office Jumla on May 13 saying that she sustained an injury on her forehead after being attacked by her husband on Thursday, May 12. Laxmi, who went to the Karnali Medical Institute of health sciences had to be given four stitches, quoted the doctor involved in her treatment. The victim reported that her husband, who is a chronic drunkard and gambler used to beat her many times in the past, but she hesitated to go to the police fearing embarrassment. She said that she was compelled to lodge a complaint at police after the torture became unbearable. Inspector Dil Bahadur Thapa of DPO said that police has arrested the accused to investigate into the incident.
