Achham/November 11

Chandra Kala Khadka, 45, of Gajra8 and Tika Tiruwa, 35, of same place have been sent into exile by locals on charge of having illicit relationship.

The locals had taken the decision on the basis of a woman's statement that Chandrakala and Tika were in an illicit relationship, a local Ratal Rwal said. Deciding to ostracize them on November 6, the locals had sent them into exile on November 8.

Rawal added that though Chandrakala and Tika denied the villager's claim, the locals sent them into exile by taking them to Gaurifanta, India.

Husband of Chandrakala, Surat had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office Bayalpata seeking action against her and Tika after returing from India on November 6. SI Basudev Awasthi of the APO said that Surat had handed over Chandrakala and Tika to the police the same day.

However, Surat took his complaint back the next day saying that he registered the complaint in anger and also took Chandrakala and Tika with him, SI Awasthi said, adding that he later learnt that locals took them to Guarafanta, India in a vehicle immediately after taking them from the police office.

According to family sources, Chandra suffers from mental illness.
