Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

Nepali workers stranded in Saudi Arabia have appealed to Kathmandu-based JBR Manpower Company to take action. They have been living a miserable life in Saudi Arabia without getting their salaries. Instead of rescuing them,  the manpower has threatened them, they have urged the Department of Foreign Employment to take action. "The manpower is well aware of the situation we are in now. The company itself has not even given us the job. Salary has not been paid ', Laxman Lal Tamang, who came in contact from Hail, told Kantipur, 'Manpower director Deepak Ghimire tells us to go to work otherwise he has threatening to sue us. ' The victim was sent to Saudi's Sanat International Company as a normal worker in the first week of April after the manpower broke the government-imposed fee and collected up to Rs 120,000. Sanat had supplied the workers to Aramco's company. Aramco had repeatedly requested for an identity card (residence permit in Saudi Arabia) to be sent to the construction site. Aramco kicked us out of the workplace after Sanat failed to apply for a worker's visa. "We worked for about two and a half months. They have not even been paid for past work, ' he said. The company has demanded that the affected workers pay 3 to 10 thousand riyals to leave Saudi Arabia if they want to return home. The victim worker has been kept in a place called Azezia of Hail. They have reached the Saudi labor department for rescue. He said the department took the time to sort out the issue process. Apart from Nepalis, 200 Indian workers are also stranded in the company. The Nepali embassy in Riyadh has stated that it is working with a local representative to solve the problem of the affected workers.
