Protesters set fire to industry in Surkhet

Normal life in Surkhet has been affected due to the bandh enforced by Netra Bikram Chand led Biplov Maoists. Tekraj Khatri, operator of Sarthak Food Product Industry in Birendranagar-13 Pipara, reported that his industry was set on fire by a group of unidentified men during the bandh. He has reported a loss of around rupees 12 Lakh in damages due to the fire. According to Khatri packaging machine, mixture machine, and filling machine in the industry were completely destroyed in the fire. DSP Bahadurjung Malla of Banke District Police said that they are investigating whether the fire in the industry was caused accidentally or if someone had deliberately set fire as claimed by the owner of the industry. Banks, financial institutions, private schools, and shops were closed due to the bandh. Police have arrested some protesters. Goma Oli, Jeet Bishwokarma, Kamal Nepali, Khagendra Nepali have been arrested.
