Abducted senior citizen escapes captivity after 3 days in Parsa

A 65–year-old -man managed to escape from the captivity of two kidnappers he was held in, after three days this morning. According to police, Ram Avatar Kurmi of Ramgadhawa VDC in Parsa district was abducted while he was out to keep a vigil in the field on Sunday evening. The family members of Kurmi had reported police about the missing Kurmi the following day when he did not return home. Kurmi, who was kept in the forest near Biruwaguthi escaped from the captivity and hid himself in the vicinity of the forest before he approached to the nearby police post at Biruwaguthi in the wee hours, on Wednesday, said police. Meanwhile, the security personnel have detained Chandra Dev Ram Chamar of Harpur VDC-3 in the district as a prime suspect behind the kidnapping, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) at Parsa District Police office, Govinda Sah. The investigation into the case is underway, said police.
