Protests in Palpa against the constitution amendment bill which proposes splitting Province 5 continued for an eighth straight day on Wednesday. Schools, businesses, transportation service and industries have remained shut due to the protests. In Palpa, the supporters of various political parties shut down government offices to press their demand to keep Province 5 intact. They assembled outside the government offices from the morning to bar access to the employees as well as service seekers. The protesters also chanted anti-government slogans and burnt tyres on the streets. They warned of intensifying the protests if their demand is not addressed at the earliest. ............. The protest has been ongoing on it's fifteenth day. Normal life of the palpa residents has been disrupted by the imposed strike. The strike imposed on 30 November in support of the protest against the amendment has now been prolonged to 15 day. पाल्पा लगायत पहाडी जिल्लालाई तराईबाट अलग गरिएको बिरोधमा जारी आन्दोलनमा सत्तारुढ नेपाली कांग्रेसले संस्थागत सहभागिता जनाएको छ । कांग्रेसकै नेतृत्वमा पाल्पामा आन्दोलन चर्किएको छ । कांग्रेस, प्रमुख विपक्षी नेकपा एमाले लगायत ६ राजनीतिक दल, उद्योग वाणिज्य संघ,नागरिक समाज र पेशागत संघ संगठनहरुको संयुक्त आह्वानमा जारी पाल्पा बन्द शनिवारसम्म कायमै रहने भएको छ । संयुक्त युक्त सघर्ष समितिको बुधवार सम्पन्न बैठकले विधेयक फिर्ता नलिदा सम्म पाल्पा बन्द रहने निर्णय गरेको एमाले नेता देवी बस्यालले बताए । आन्दोलन रचनात्मक बनाउन व्यंग्य गीत कविता गजल वाचन ,मानव साङ्लो निर्माण र जिल्ला प्रशासन घेराउ गरिने भएको छ । बुधवार आन्दोलनकारीले बिहान ९बजे देखि ५बजे सम्म जिल्ला प्रशासन पाल्पा दरवार घेराउ र धर्ना गरेका छन । आन्दोलनमा एमाले केन्द्रीय सदस्य ठाकुर गैरे, नेपाली कांग्रेसका जिल्ला सभापति वीरवहादुर राना मगर, एमाले अध्यक्ष नारायण आचार्य,उद्योग वाणिज्य संघका अध्यक्ष मोहन श्रेष्ठ लगायत अग्रपंक्तिमा छन् ।
