Cadres of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha vandalised a vehicle near the Dhambojhi Chok in Nepalgunj on Tuesday. It has been learnt that the agitating cadres of Morcha vandalised the vehicle for defying the banda. The alliance of Madhes-based parties has enforced a banda in Saptari district today in protest against the death of its cadres in Monday’s police firing. Three persons were killed when police opened fire at Maleth of the district to stop the Morcha cadres from disrupting a mass meeting organised by the main opposition CPN-UML as part of its Mechi-Mahakali campaign yesterday. The Morcha leaders carrying flags have been demonstrating in various parts of the district since this morning to enforce the shutdown. The Morcha cadres have also been trying to obstruct the Nepalgunj-Gulariya road section. Vehicles stayed off the roads and bazaars remained shut. The local administration has beefed up security to avert any untoward incident.
