Police on Monday said they arrested a new mother on charge of murdering her newborn baby, in Bandegaun of Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur district. The arrestee is Rita Tamang (30), a permanent resident of Makawanpur district, currently residing in Bandegaun. Earlier, locals had spotted a black pack with the newborn’s body dumped in the locality. Police suspected that the child was born out of an illicit relationship as her husband is currently abroad. Meanwhile, police said they are looking into the case.
