The cadres of Nepal Workers Peasant party have set fire on “Nagarik Daily” paper in front of the District Administration office on April 11 against the news that was published in a paper regarding the party. The party’s chairperson of Jumla, Shiva lal Dangi said that the paper was burnt as a protest of publishing fact less news about the party. While speaking at the program of burning newspaper, Dangi said that the attention of the party has been drawn on a base-less news published in Nagarik Daily about the party. He warned that the party will restrict the sale of newspaper in the district if the news is not corrected. On April 11, the newspaper had published news regarding the vice-chairman Purna Prasad Dhital of Teacher’s Association affiliated to Nepal Workers Peasant Party, leaving his occupation and giving candidacy from Maoist (Centre) for the upcoming election. The representative of Nagarik Daily, D.B Buda, said that the news was not published deliberately and said that there was some mistake while editing. He added that the news will be published with correction. नागरिक दैनिक पत्रिकाले पार्टीको चरित्र हत्या हुनेगरी समाचार प्रकाशन गरेको भन्दै नेपाल मजदुर किसान पार्टी जुम्लाका कार्यकर्ताले चैत २९ गते साँझ जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय अगाडि नागरिक दैनिक पत्रिका जलाएका छन् । स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचन नजिकिँदै आाउँदा निर्वाचनका विषयमा आफ्नो पार्टीका व्यक्तिका नाममा तथ्यहीन समाचार प्रकाशन गरेपछि पत्रिका जलाइएको नेमकिपा जुम्लाका अध्यक्ष शिवलाल डाँगीले बताए । पत्रिका जलाउनका लागि आयोजित कार्यक्रममा बोल्दै नेपाल मजदुर किसान पार्टीका जिल्ला अध्यक्ष शिवलाल डाँगीले पार्टी पंक्तिलाईसमेत अतिरञ्जित बनाउने गरी आएको समाचारप्रति आफ्नो पार्टीको गम्भीर आपत्ति भएको बताए । उनले उक्त समाचार नसच्याए पत्रिका जुम्ला आगमनमा समेत रोक लगाइने चेतावनी दिए । चैत २९ गतेको नागरिक पश्चिमेली पेजमा नेपाल मजदुर किसान पार्टी निकट शिक्षक सङ्गठनका केन्द्रीय उपाध्यक्ष पूर्णप्रसाद धिताललाई शिक्षक पेशा छोडेर नेकपा माओवादी केन्द्रबाट सिजा गाउँपालिका अध्यक्षमा उम्मेदवारी दिने तयारी गरेको भन्ने समाचार प्रकाशित भएको थियो । नागरिक दैनिक जुम्लाका सम्वाददाता डिवि बुढाले आफूले नियतबस उक्त समाचार सम्प्रेषण नगरेको र केन्द्रमा सम्पादन कार्यमा गल्ती भएको प्रतिक्रिया दिए । उनले भने-‘उक्त कुरा सच्चाएर प्रकाशन हुने छ ।’
