Cadres of Nepali Congress padlocked the party office in Surkhet accusing Nepali Congress Constituency number 2 Regional Working committee of making unilateral decisions regarding the recommendation of candidates for local elections from Lekbesi and Birendranagar municipality. Lalit Bhattarai, a candidate for the chairman of Ward no.5 said that their decision of making Raj Bahadur Gurung the candidate for the post of ward chairman is not justified at all. नेपाली कांग्रेस क्षेत्र नं २ को क्षेत्रीय कार्यसमितिले एकलौटी ढंगले निर्णय गरेको भन्दै पार्टी कार्यालयमा तालाबन्दी गरिएको छ। स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचनका लागि लेकबेसी नगरपालिका र वीरेन्द्रनगर नगरपालिकामा एकतर्फी उम्मेदवारको सिफारिस गरिएको बिरोधमा असन्तुष्ट पक्षले तालाबन्दी गरेका हुन्। लेकबेसी नगरपालिकाको प्रमुख (मेयर) मा उमेश पौडेल र उपमेयरमा लीलामणी विकलाइ मनोमानी ढंगले सिफारिस गरिएको आरोप लागिएको छ। क्षेत्रीय समन्वय समितिले सदस्यमा सिफारिस भएका राजबहादुर गुरुङलाइ अध्यक्षको उम्मेदवार बनाउने निर्णय गर्नु आपत्तिजनक भएको वडा नं. ५ का अध्यक्षका आकांक्षी ललित भट्टराईले बताए।
