Newly-elected Chairman of Dhulikhel Municipality Ward 2 Rajan Koirala succumbed to injuries during treatment on Friday night. Koirala was found critically injured in a rivulet at Chhap near his residence on August 20. Koirala sustained critical injuries in his head and chest in an apparent attack as he was returning home after selling milk at a local dairy cooperative. Koirala was undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu for six days, according to the District Police Office, Dhulikhel. Koirala, who was elected from the CPN-UML, is survived by his wife, three sons and parents. The Central Investigation Bureau is investigating into the incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Marasini.
