An IED went off at a passengers’ lounge at the main chowk in Makawanpur’s Manahari bazaar this afternoon. It caused minor damage to the lounge but no human casualty is reported. A police team had reached the site immediately after the incident. “It was a small device kept by setting time, which later went off,” said inspector Chitra Bahadur Ghale at the Area Police Office, Manahari. The incident site was close to the venue where the left alliance had organised an election mass meeting today. Though the Chand-led CPN is doubted to have caused the blast, it is yet to be confirmed.
