Child Being Trafficked to China Rescued

Sindhupalchok/August 18 Three teenage girls being trafficked to China have been rescued by the Border Police Kodari from Miteri Bridge in Tatopani on August 17. The girls, hailing from Jhapa, Dhading and Kathmandu, were being taken to China under the pretext of getting jobs with a salary of Rs 25,000 per month by Phurba Tamang, 21, of Marming VDC. Inspector Manoj Lama of the Border Police Post said that the accused was arrested with help from Maiti Nepal. According to DSP Bharat Bahadur Bohara, the accused is held in the custody of the DPO for investigation while the girls have been handed over to Maiti Nepal.
