2 UCPN (M) vehicles torched in east Nepal

MORANG, Nov 1: Unidentified gangs have torched two vehicles being used by UCPN (Maoist) candidates for election campaigns in separate places in the eastern part of Nepal. UCPN (Maoist) candidate of Morang-8, Gopi Achhami’s vehicle, Ko 1 Cha 6270, was set ablaze early Friday at Biratchowk by an unidentified gang. Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) candidate of Sunsari-2, Ram Kumari Chaudhary’ s vehicle, Ko 1 Cha 5851, was also set on fire in Itahari by an unidentified group. A preliminary investigation shows the assailants broke the windshield of the vehicle before they set it on fire. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants. With the Constituent Assembly polls around the corner, the incidents of road blocks and arson on election vehicles are soaring up especially targeting UCPN (Maoist) election campaign. व
