A man from Pokhara Metropolitan City has attacked his wife with acid in Bharatpur, Chitwan on Wednesday.
Biren Gurung, 47, attacked his wife Dolma Rumba, 20, with acid at the latter’s parental home at Dhrubabazar in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-24.
Currently, acid survivor Rumba is receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur. According to the police, Rumba’s health is normal.
Superintendent of Police of Chitwan District Police Office Sushil Singh Rathor said that Biren travelled to Bharatpur from Pokhara in a reserved vehicle along with his four friends and attacked his wife with acid. Police suspect that a family feud was the reason behind the incident.
Police have held four including Hem Thapa and Niren Gurung of Pokhara, and Bibek Gurung of Hetauda for their involvement in the case.
Superintendent of Police Rathor said that further investigations into the case have been initiated.
