Niraj Khanal, 25, of Sainamaina Municipality-6 has accused the Saljhandi Area Police Office of not registering a case of assault. The victim shared that he had tried to file a direct complaint at the police office against Narayan Kharel, the president of Sainamaina Business Association on March 20, stating that Kharel assaulted him. The police had asked Khanal to file the formal complaint but when that was done on March 24th, the police declined to file the complaint.
Twelve men along with Kharel allegedly assaulted the victim on March 20 for not paying rent when his father was nominated as Chairperson of Area Development Committee.
