org SMS ALert: Salyan, UCPN-M sabha najikai bomb bisphot. Salyan/November 1 Bombs have been detonated near the UCPN-M election assembly at Majkanda VDC-4 in the evening of November 1. Details are yet to come as the incident site is a rural village and telephone networks do not work properly in the area. DSP Lalmani Acharya said that a joint team of police and army reached the site after learning about the explosion. He said that the explosion might have been carried out with an intention to affect the election. No group has owned up the incident. INSEC representative from Rupandehi reports that bombs have been planted at Burmeli tol and Nepal-India border. Police suspected that CPN-M cadres might have planted the bombs as the party had called for a bandh demanding release of its cadres who were arrested for their involvement in anti-election activities. The socket bombs were defused by bomb disposal team of Nepal Army.
