26-year-old Pema Tarke Lama, a resident of Mugum Karmarong rural municipality-7 Maha village has banished his wife from his home keeping their 4-year-old son with himself. Pema and his wife Toma Lama had married after falling into love 5 years ago.
Toma gave an oral complaint of domestic violence against her husband to ward chairperson of Chyaba Tamang. Pema has also refused the ward chairperson's request to hand the child to Toma as there is provision in law which gives mother the right over children up to five year old. Ward chairperson also said he had requested Pema to take in his wife.
