Anita (Name changed) of Ramechhap, mother of a 7-year-old filed the case against ex-police officer Raju (Bhuvan) Kharel stating that he raped the daughter. In the statement given by the Anita on April 4, her daughter complained about the pain in her private part , however she has recently register the complaint.
According to the mother of the 7-years -old, she worked as a domestic help at the accused's house. She shared that the accused used to play with the girl and sometimes he gave her chocolate, however she never found anything suspicious but one day the daughter asked her not to go for work at Raju's house and told about the incident when questioned why she said so.
The accused allegedly raped the girl on February and April 4, 2019. However, metropolitan police, Baneshwor, started searching for Kharel only after the FIR was lodged on April 1. By then, the perpetrator had already run away from his home but was later arrested from Kanchanpur.
According to the police, he has confessed to abusing the child but denied raping her. During medical examination in Thapathali Maternity Hospital , it was found that the private part of the child was swollen.
The family of the accused has denied rape charges. They claim that the mother of the girl is lying for money.
