DAILEKH, May 19: The ward chief of Chamundabindrasauni Municipality-5 of Dailekh district has thrashed a school principal during a meeting of the municipality on Friday.
Ward Chief Narayan Prasad Regmi who participated in the municipal meeting was attacked by the principal of Deuti Primary School, Jagat Bahadur Shahi. Shahi did not just tear the clothes of the ward chief but also beat him black and blue.
Lokesh Shahi, a non gazetted officer of the municipality, managed to separate the two. Later, when the ward chief was on his way to report the incident to the chief administrative officer of the district, Shahi followed him again. This compelled Regmi to seek refuge with police.
"Even when I was rushing toward the police station, he came after me again," said Regmi, "I was attacked twice that day. As I was feeling unsafe, I called my family members and relatives to escort me home."
