People who are accused of beating 33-year-old Journalist Bhojraj Basnet of Belbari municipality-1 were released after issuing a public apology.
Police released 36-year-old Bikram Rai, Vice-chairperson of Nepali Congress in Belbari-11, 36-year-old Ram Tamang ward chairperson of Belbari ward 11 and 60-year-old Ling Bahadur Theve on May 20 after they publicly apologized for beating Journalist Basnet on May 19.
The trio assaulted Basnet for writing news about action taken by Congress Ward Committee of ward no. 11 for irregularities regarding the issue of drinking water.
