An eight-year-old child abducted from Pragati Nagar, Birgunj Metropolitan City-3 of Parsa district, has been found murdered.

The victim has been identified as Karan Sah, a son of local Shambhu Sah. The District Police Office confirm that his body was recovered from a stream in Khaurahi, Kalaiya Submetropolitan City-25 of neighbouring Bara district.

Police police arrested three persons–Bikas Sharma, Sikindra Sah and Ram Dinesh Mahato–in connection with the case. Of them, Sharma is said to be an Indian national.

He used to reside near the house of the victim and he planned the crime, according to police.

Investigators say the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 3 million from the family. Later, they had agreed for Rs 500,000.

However, the child was already killed before they reached the agreement.

The victim was missing since last Friday.
