Police arrested 29-year-old Dipak Koirala on August 11 on the charge of attacking his 22-year-old wife Srijana Jagebu with a sharp weapon. Dipak was absconding after attacking his wife on July 20.  Jagebu is from Mahottari, Gauribas and was living in Ilam Municipality-10.

According to the victim's party, Dipak stabbed Srijana on July 20. The victim was sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences after initial treatment at Ilam Hospital on July 20.
