Armed Group Asks Government to Meet Its Demands

Samyukta Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha (Azad) has asked the government to meet its 11-point demands.

 

Speaking at a press conference at Mirchaiya on January 28, the group's head Udaykant Mishra (Azad) made the demand.

 

The demands of the group include declaring Tarai as reserved state, 50 per cent position at government bodies allotted to Madhesis, compensation to the people dying in the movements, withdrawal of criminal cases against its cadres and integration of its military in Nepal Army.

 

He said his main demand was Tarai as being a reserved state where the non-Madhesis would be barred from buying land and contesting in election.
